Solaria - my MMO [01 Sep 2010|07:58pm]
This is a signal boost. Please spread it around.

Off and on for the past year and a half, I and my friend have been working on a sci-fi MMO. We have reached our second major milestone, which is Alpha Testing.

If you would like to check out what we're doing, would like some professional Game Testing experience for your resume, or want to see behind the scenes of such a production...or, hey, get in on what we think is going to be a great MMO experience...

Go here: http://www.starbladestudios.com

Sign up and check out the forums on how to become an Alpha Tester.

Please, spread the word. Thanks!

Oh, triggur, you so funny. [17 Dec 2009|02:02pm]
Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

In August I bought porn for ahicks (-10 points). Last Friday I got in line at the supermarket at the same time as someone else and I didn't yield (-8 points). In January I saved a busload of nuns in Angola (326 points). Last Tuesday I ruled Duluth, Minnesota as a cruel and heartless dictator (-700 points). In November points and I donated clothes to the needy (11 points).

Overall, I've been naughty (-381 points). For Christmas I deserve a lump of coal!

Sincerely,
Slipdragon

An end to privacy. [29 Oct 2009|10:26am]
[ mood | gloomy ]

I have long been under the belief that 'privacy' is a 20th century concept, now annihilated in Governmental and Corporate desire to collect every shred of information, and put it into a database somewhere. Which is why, while I make sure my passwords are mostly random and different for given sites/apps, I don't hide who I am or what I do.

More and more, products are coming onto the market ostensibly to 'protect' something, usually children. These products are the final nail into the coffin of 'privacy'.

Today, I present to you this:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Insignia+-+Little+Buddy+Child+Tracker+%28Blue%29/9540703.p?skuId=9540703&productCategoryId=pcmcat193100050013&id=1218123143064

Most people will go, "Awwwww, it is cute! And comes in designer colors! And I can know where my precious snowflake is at all times!"

I, and many others, go: "Awwwww, a $100 GPS tracking device I can hide in a briefcase, purse, or someone's car! And if I remove the case, I bet I can hide it inside a laptop!"

Enjoy the future. :)

Massachusetts freaks out. [18 Oct 2009|05:17pm]
Snow before Halloween.

Patriots playing Tennessee in a snow game, it is a rout. Fun to watch an old-school American Football game.

Belly filled with warm Mexican food, and Sopapillas.

Girlfriend. :)

Good times, good times.

I killed several of my recent embedded video posts, because the most recent LJ update created an exploitable loophole. LJ, in defense, has 'temporarily' pointed all embed codes at a (broken) url.

It does not look to be necessary to do this, now that I've dug deeper into the issue.

As a side note, now would be a good time to change your password, if you have had some embedded videos in your recent postings. Remember, change your password regularly!

LJ has stated that they will post an update as soon as they ascertain the root cause. Which should be read as: do damage control.

This is the form letter I send back whenever I get a really bad automagically-generated form letter, from out-of-country recruiter drones.

Hello.

I understand that you live in India, and, therefore, may not be familiar with the geography of the United States of America.

Thus, I have provided this map:

http://i.factmonster.com/images/states_imgmap.gif

Print it out, and put it up somewhere you can easily see it.

If you had read my resume, and checked a map, you'd see that MA is actually quite far from MO. MA stands for Massachusetts, MO stands for Missouri.

Here is a list of US State abbreviations:

http://www.usps.com/ncsc/lookups/usps_abbreviations.html

I know you're just pushing search keywords into a program, but, actually reading the resume will improve your hit and success rate up, which will, hopefully, give you a few more Rupees in your paycheck.

Thank you.

Liveblogging the lead-in World War Two [04 Sep 2009|09:57am]

Someone is posting George Orwell's diaries, day by day. It is like he's blogging the lead-in to world war two, including scans of newspapers and clippings.

This is a MUST READ.
